On Tuesday September 20th, we hosted the sixth iPECS Insights Forum of 2022. These monthly webinars help us share important information with our community of partners and are designed to be informative, interactive, and inspirational.

September’s webinar was hosted by Ericsson LG’s Head of Sales and Marketing, Ahed Alkhatib, and took a closer look at the state of the communications industry in 2022. The session was designed to stimulate discussion between global partners. The trends in the marketplace are affecting us all, and collaboration is key to tackling some of the challenges that all businesses face.

September’s webinar was hosted across two sessions to account for the different time zones that Ericsson-LG global partners work within.

Remote working:

Current business analysis suggests that hybrid working is here to stay. Services like unified communications have grown year on year since 2019. Offering business continuity through remote working has gone from being an additional extra, to a necessity. It was fantastic to hear from global partners about how iPECS ONE has facilitated this continuity in many markets.

Cloud adoption:

In nearly every market, even those still limited by the current economic environment, we have seen an acceleration in cloud adoption. Both SMEs and larger enterprises are adopting these services.

Despite the increase of cloud, we have still seen that there is still a place in the market for on-premise communications, depending on the customer requirement.

MS Teams integration:

Microsoft has delivered a fantastic solution with MS Teams, but it cannot do everything. We are happy that iPECS provides a complimentary solution for Teams, generating value by offering richer communications, alongside Teams’ flexible interface.

This has been reflected in the market, with high demand for Teams integration being a constant throughout many global markets.

Softphone integration:

Many companies are now deploying cell phone-only solutions in their markets. Most users now do not expect to notice a drop-off in voice quality when they switch from a desktop handset to their cell.

Despite the increased need for cell phone solutions, there is still a huge demand for fixed-line telephony, with many industries still seeing desktop handsets as a crucial part of any working environment worldwide. Many partners described seeing success with a combination of softphones and desktop solutions.

Digital transformation:

Digital transformation is accelerating in both cloud and on-premise markets. More businesses are demanding a communications platform that can offer complex integrations, and also solve some of the communications problems of today. We’re happy to say that iPECS is solving many of these challenges, with our new services for emergency being an excellent example.

We heard from partners about how applications have risen in demand. Call analytics, recording and contact center services are required for a huge number of businesses, whether they use on-premise or cloud communications.

Finally, the partners contributed to a general question and answer session about many of the changes in the industry. It was fantastic to hear so many global perspectives. We are excited to re-unite the Global Partner community in 2023 with our first Global Partner Conference since the pandemic.

We hope to welcome you on the next iPECS insights session in October to share your thoughts and learn from our industry experts.
